Going to see it tomorrow at 5.30

Think the guy might be a bit shocked as I'm only 20! but on 10/9/85 when im 21, got an insurnace quote for £1150 (however, £1k excess!).

    Hope its nice...

    That......

    Looks lovely.

If the guy is nice, the history checks out and the car drives well I would go for it!

    Good luck.

I suspect it is worth about £7k - £7.5 so I would try and knock him down a bit...

    Cheers,

    Steve.

It does doesn't it. Can't wait to see it. Although i really cant justify getting it now- insurance tomorrow would be £2.2k! What a difference 5months makes eh? However my dad wants to get rid of my mums 51-reg Saab Aero Convert. during the summer, so he cud get rid of it now, and her have 'my' S2 until i sell my car and pay my Dad back! Could be an option...and shes not bothered what she drives, the audi is a nice enough and I'm guessing its easy enough to drive.

          Hi Phil,

I enquired about this car end of last year when it was being sold by a trader. If i remember correctly it had just had a new clutch and all the belts had been replaced.
Price then was £10995, i'll check my works computer as i may still have some info that i got from the seller. It did sound a nice car but it was too pricey for me.
          Good luck....

brm180- Great, sounds like this car is a good one then. It says 'recent cambelt change' in the Ad. I'll have to see what the boss says, as he'd have to put the money up front to buy it now and then I'd have to pay him back.

Dr H - Although i agree that fast estates are cool (my Dad's had T5's, 330is and now have a E430), I'm not sure its what I want right now. Although i do alot of skiing, i think the coupe would be big enough, and I do still think it looks better. However, sounds like a good car you have reading everyones posts about it... how much extra did all those mods cost you on insurance? Not sure I can afford to insure a modified beast, 1.1k although good is about the max, with me being a student!

oh and its got 82k on the clock- not 88!

Also Dr H - I notice you are in Leicestershire (always take a while spelling that!), and I'm back in Loughborough from sunday through to mid June (LE11). If I'm interested it shouldn't be too far to visit...?

I declared the suspension and brakes and it cost nothing extra - can't remeber if I declared the chip or not

I'm about 25 mins from the centre of Loughborough just between Coalville and Ashby (LE67). If you're interested let me know and I'm sure we can arrange something.

Cheers, will let you know with a PM if I'm interested...

Well just went to see that audi- it was pretty much perfect. Actually- nothing wrong with it, except... tiny scratch on drivers door and nearside front wheelarch, missing drivers side headlamp washer jet (not the whole thing but just the little pipes that pop out of it), AND the air conditioning, well im not sure if it worked because I'm used to a 2004 climate control clio, and although it wasnt stuffy, it didnt really cool the car down that much within the 5mintue drive. So, advice needed on what the AC should have been like. It wasn't Climate though.
Car felt quick, but very smooth and great power delivery. I had my Dad next to me and a mate in the back and floored it up hill from 2k to the end of 2nd and it pulled very convincingly to about 65 (didn't wait around to see where she limited), and best of all i could faintly hear the 5cyl chugging away.

Really really impressed with the car, and would say that if i gave it the once over and made it perfectly clean and brought it to one of your meets it would be the most mint standard car there, as I cant imagine another 10 year old car being so nice! (the level has been set!!!)

Also, Dad seems really impressed with the car and was talking about insurance the whole way home and what we could knock him down by!
